Paver Brick Patio, Shelby Twp., MI 48315
Residential home located in Shelby Township, MI 48315. This patio was designed by the landscaping design team at JJW BrickScape. This homeowner was looking for a two-tier paver patio, and a brick paver walkway to connect the landscaped patio to the concrete driveway. This patio includes over 600 square feet of Fendt brick pavers in the holland series. The three sizes used here are 4×8, 8×8, and 12×12 and the color is walnut blend. The retaining wall that supports the brick pavers is pisa II wall made by Unilock. The color of this retaining wall block is Sandstone. Re-Leveling Brick Paver Patio - Macomb Twp., MI
Homeowner located in Macomb Township, Michigan had a brick paver patio and walkway installed over 7 years ago. Due to extreme weather conditions in Michigan, the pavers have settled over time and needed to be releveled and relayed. Our team at JJW BrickScape pulled out the complete paver patio where it had settled. By bringing in more paver base material (slag sand) we were able to relevel the paving stone foundation, and reset the paver bricks to look like the day the were first installed. After laying the paver stones for this patio, our team ran a power compactor over the pavers to smooth out any uneven areas and completed the rebuild. The next step to a great brick paver restoration was to powerwash the entire paved area, resand with polymeric jointing sand, and apply a protective sealer to enhance the beauty of these paving stones.

Pavers Driveway Repair - Clinton Township
Residential home site located in Clinton Township, MI 48038. Pavers were installed over ten years ago and have really settled and shifted. The paver driveway extensions have lifted and were sitting higher than the cement driveway. The brick paver patio had pavers that were sinking along the edge of the retaining wall caps and all the pavers were very dirty. Our paver repair team spent one full day pulling up, releveling the paver base, then relaying all of the paving stones. This would include the brick paver patio, and driveway extensions. We then powerwashed, added polymeric jointing sand, and sealed all the brick pavers. The end result for this home in Clinton Township was an enhanced curb appeal, and complete restoration of the existing paver bricks.

Installing Brick Pavers - Oakland Twp.
Residential home located in Oakland Township, Michigan. Brick Paver Patio Installation - This simple brick paver design adds instant value and functionality to this home. We begin the paver installation process by first excavating the grassed area where the brick patio is to be installed. The next step is to bring in the finest stone base material and compact in three inch rises to ensure a solid foundation for the retaining wall and the landscaped paving stones. By adding a one inch layer of bedding sand (slag sand), we are able to acheive a perfectly level base to lay the brick pavers on. Proper pitch and step heights have already been set and we are ready to finish the patio. By cutting the paving stones to fit, we are ready to compact the pavers which will iron out any variation of heights from the brick pavers. This paver brick patio is complete with a final sweeping of jointing paver sand to lock the pavers together. Brick Paver Steps - Oakland Twp., MI
Residential home site located in Oakland Township, Michigan. Paver Repair Service Needed: Brick steps leading to front door have settled over time due to weather and/or poorly compacted base material. This caused the brick pavers to sink below the retaining wall cap which made for an unsafe entry to the home. Wall caps have spread apart due to the retaining wall block shifting from poorly compacted base material. Solution: JJW Brickscape pulled up and added new base material to acheive the proper height and then reset the retaining wall blocks and cap stones. Once the cement glue was dry, we added and compacted more slag sand base material inside the step, and then reset the paver bricks. The final outcome was level paver steps, leveled brick pavers inside the steps with proper pitch for drainage, and a safe entry to this residential home site in Oakland Twp., Michigan.

Sealing Paver Patio - Washington Twp., MI
Paver Sealing Service – Homeowner located in Washington Township, Michigan requested brick pavers to be cleaned – resanded with polymeric jointing sand, and paver sealer applied. On day one of our paver sealing service, JJW BrickScape spent a few hours powerwashing the brick paver patio, and walkway removing any dirt, debris, and stains that the pavers had accumulated over the years. Once the brick pavers were dry, polymeric sand was swept into the paver joints and all excess sand was removed with a power blower. We then lightly wet the sand allowing it to dry and harden overnight. On day two, the paver sealant is applied using a slotted foam roller ensuring even coverage of the sealer creating a flawless finish. This homeowner is Washington Twp., MI has now enhanced the look of their brick pavers and may revisit our paver sealing services within the next three years.
